Megan Schulze

Soprano, Megan Schulze, is a singer and educator in the Los Angeles area. She specializes in classical music and loves singing in choirs. Megan sings with the Pasadena Chorale, Terpsichor, Capella Musica of  St. Andrew Catholic Church, and is thrilled to be part of Resonant. She graduated in 2022 with her Masters of Music in Vocal Arts at the University of Southern California where she studied with Elizabeth Hynes. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Point Loma Nazarene University. Megan comes from a family of educators and has a passion for music education and outreach. She works for Pacific Opera Project as the Front of House Manager, Youth Program Instructor, and assists with marketing and social media. She also teaches private voice and piano lessons to students of all ages.

Lauren Adaska

Lauren Adaska is a Southern-California based soprano. Growing up in the Central Valley, she sang in a variety of choirs and participated in community theater until graduating high school. She then attended California State University Fullerton, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Performance in 2019.    Currently, in addition to Resonant, she sings with the Pacific Chorale, the Los Angeles Master Chorale, the Capella Musica of St. Andrews Catholic Church, and works as the soprano section leader for the traditional choir at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic church. Previously, she has toured both domestically and internationally with the CSUF University Singers and Concert Choir, and worked as a private voice teacher for students of all ages. While attending CSUF, she also worked as a music intern at Fullerton First United Methodist Church.

Sarah Finley

GRAMMY-Winning artist Sarah Finley is thrilled to join Resonant as a Soprano this season. She regularly performs with ensembles all over Southern California, and she is a staff singer with the Capella Musica of St Andrew Catholic Church in Pasadena. Over her career she has sung with the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, Pacific Collegium, UC Berkeley Chamber Chorus, among others. As a SAG-AFTRA artist, Sarah has sung for trailers, video games, and commercials. She recently won a GRAMMY for her work on the album Brillo, Brillo! by Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band. She also has a thriving voice over career with clients like Dr. Pepper, Revlon, and Disney, just to name a few.  Many featured soprano solo performances include Mozart’s Requiem, Bach’s St. John’s Passion, Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610, and Heinrich Schütz’s Musikalische Exequien. Operatic roles include Don Giovanni (Zerlina) and Die Zauberflöte (Queen of the Night, First Lady). She earned her degree in Music at UC Berkeley, and she currently studies with Reid Bruton.

Anna Caplan

Anna Caplan is equally at home in the spotlight or in a supporting role as part of Southern California’s dynamic and diverse vocal arts scene. She is a roster member of the Los Angeles Master Chorale and performs with Choral Arts Initiative, Conspirare, Long Beach Camerata Singers, Catalyst Chamber Ensemble, Tonality, Pacific Chorale, Bach Collegium San Diego, Colorado Bach Ensemble, and Laude at the First Congregational Church of Los Angeles. Anna has appeared as a soloist for Mozart’s Coronation Mass, and can be heard on Choral Arts Initiative albums From Wilderness and Tapestry of Becoming. She has performed at Carnegie Hall with Eric Whitacre, three times for the American Choral Directors Association Western Division Conference, and was a featured soloist for the California All-State Music Educators Conference. Anna has sung background vocals for Tiësto, The Who Quadrophenia tour, Sarah Brightman’s Hymn tour, and Josh Groban’s Harmony tour. She has premiered over 50 new works as a soloist and with various ensembles, including compositions by James MacMillan, Rollo Dilworth, and Dale Trumbore. Anna has performed leading roles in operas with Lyric Opera of Orange County and East Village Caravanserai. Her roles have included Hansel (Hansel & Gretel), Romeo (I Capuleti e i Montecchi), Dido (Dido & Aeneas), and Phaedo (Socrate). Anna holds a BM in Vocal Performance and MM in Vocal Chamber Music, both from the University of Redlands, and was a Smith Scholar for the IES Abroad Music program in Vienna, Austria.

Elias Berezin

Jewish-American tenor Elias Berezin is a California native. Based in Los Angeles, he has sung with organizations all around the state specializing in operatic and concert works.

This season Elias returns to Guild Opera Company for role debuts as Don José in Carmen and Macduff in Macbeth. He debuts with LA Opera Connects bringing opera to various high schools throughout the SoCal area and returns to Music at Westwood to sing the tenor solos in Messiah. 

Elias finished the ’23/’24 season with a debut at Mission Opera singing the role of Danilo in The Merry Widow and a return to Soli Deo Gloria for performances of the Lord Nelson Mass, followed by his second season at the Boston Wagner Institute as a young artist. 

Recent operatic highlights include Luigi in Il Tabarro and Ferrando in Cosí fan tutte with Guild Opera, Eisenstein and Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus with Pacific Lyric Association, and Tamino in Die Zauberflöte with Landmark Opera. A  proponent of new music, Berezin created leading roles as Autumn in Joseph-Nathaniel Cuenca’s SCHISM at UCR Arts, and The Inventor in Ian Dicke’s ROMAN with Synchromy. 

 

Elias Berezin

Rohan Ramanan

Rohan Ramanan is a Los Angeles/Orange County-based tenor & countertenor with a diverse musical background and expansive range. He has studied both Western and Indian classical voice, and has been immersed in many styles of commercial music, world genres, and fusion work. Rohan performs with many ensembles throughout Southern California (LA Master Chorale, LA Choral Lab, Tonality, Pacific Chorale, Long Beach Camerata, Catalyst, Choral Arts Initiative, Street Symphony, Musica Transalpina, Laude, etc.) as both a chorister & soloist (AGMA). He also sings for film, television, album, & video game studio sessions as a member of SAG-AFTRA. His voice can be heard in scores for Disney, Marvel, & National Geographic, and he has performed live with Thirty Seconds to Mars @iHeartRadio, Tiësto, Michael Giacchino, Rufus Wainwright, Kamasi Washington, Disney Parks, Stewart Copeland, Kronos Quartet, LA Philharmonic, & for Björk as part of her USA ‘Cornucopia’ tour. Outside of SoCal, he made his operatic debut in Houston Grand Opera’s premiere ‘Another City’ as Manoj Mukherjee, where his “ethereal phrases […] offered a lightness and sweetness” (Texas Classical Review, 2023). Rohan is a 2024 Fellow for Thirteen (D.C.) and was recently a finalist for Chanticleer (S.F.). Rohan joined Seraphic Fire twice this season, where he first “took the spotlight as soloist […] displaying charisma and joy” and later “displayed […] high coloratura roulades” (South Florida Classical Review, 2024 & 2025). Rohan is also an accomplished Hindustani vocal soloist throughout the US and internationally. He concertizes as a professional freelance oboist/English horn player as well, having previously held a position with South Asian Symphony. In addition to performing and touring, Rohan maintains a private voice/oboe studio and is quite the plant/flower geek!

Evan Roberts

Evan Roberts is an avid choral musician in the Los Angeles area, singing with numerous ensembles such as the Los Angeles Master Chorale, the Contemporary Choral Collective of Los Angeles (C3LA), the Cappella Musica of St. Andrews Church in Pasadena, the Schola of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Habra, the Donald Brinegar Singers, and now Resonant. He is currently the choir director of the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, where he leads two ensembles and teaches classes in vocal skills and music theory. Evan holds a Master’s in Music Education Research from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, a Master’s in Choral Conducting from California State University: Los Angeles, and a Bachelor’s in Vocal Performance from the Eastman School of Music. When he is not making music, Evan enjoys exploring the city, cooking, hosting social events at his house, and playing board games.

Amador Solis

Tenor, Amador Solis, is a Los Angeles based classically trained singer known for his performances of opera arias, oratorio, and as a sought after church vocalist in Los Angeles. Some of Mr. Solis’ most notable performances include Tenor Soloist for Pasadena Chorale’s ‘Given Concert’ featuring Handel’s ‘Messiah’ and ‘Ballad of the Brown King’ by Margaret Bonds, and as tenor soloist for the Glendale Community College Performance of Mozart’s ‘Requiem Mass’. Recently, he performed in the Los Angeles premiere of the oratorio, ‘The Light of Hope Returning’ by Shawn Kirchner. He is currently Tenor Soloist for the First United German Methodist Church, a Cantor at Incarnation Catholic Church in Glendale, Tenor in the Capella Musica of  St. Andrews Catholic Church, and a member of the Pasadena Chorale. Amador has had the privilege to perform under the batons of and/or studied with Grant Gershon, Jeff Bernstein, Jorge Mester, Dr. Paul J. Sherman, Dr. Peter Green, Dr. Tobin Sparfeld, Donald Brinegar, Rachel Worby, and many others. When not performing, Mr. Solis also works as an accomplished and sought after audio engineer and drummer.

Tobin Sparfeld

With over thirty-five years of choral experience, Tobin Sparfeld has performed with many ensembles including the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, Seraphic Fire, and the St. Louis Children’s Choirs. He has sung under the batons of conductors such as Leonard Slatkin, Franz Welser-Möst, Helmuth Rilling, and Michael Tilson Thomas. Tobin received his DMA in Conducting from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, where he took lessons with Professor David Malis. He has taught at Millersville University of Pennsylvania, Principia College, Los Angeles Mission College, and the Musicians Institute. Tobin holds a master’s degree in voice from Illinois State University, and remains active as a soloist and choral clinician. Dr. Sparfeld has directed the choral and voice area at Glendale Community College since 2015. In November he will be performing as a baritone soloist in Carmina Burana with the L.A. Daiku Choir at Herbert Zipper Concert Hall.

Raphael Poon

Raphael Poon is a versatile vocalist and bassist whose musical journey blends classical and contemporary influences. He began his musical career with the upright and electric bass before discovering his passion for singing at Glendale Community College. Raphael earned his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from California State University, Fullerton, in 2018. An active member of the Southern California music scene, Raphael sings with prestigious ensembles such as the Los Angeles Master Chorale and Pacific Chorale, and performs regularly at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. He is also known for his contributions as a bassist, often performing at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Pasadena. Throughout his career, Raphael has had the honor of working with renowned conductors including Esa-Pekka Salonen, Grant Gershon, John Williams, Robert Istad, and Gustavo Dudamel. Outside of his musical endeavors, Raphael enjoys playing Magic: The Gathering and raising freshwater shrimp, adding a personal touch to his diverse range of interests. His passion for music and community continues to shape his artistry.

Ben Johns

Ben Johns, bass, has sung professionally as a choral artist and soloist at venues around the world, including the Musikverein in Vienna; the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam; the Paris Consulate; Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall; National Theater Taipei; Walt Disney Concert Hall; and the Hollywood Bowl. In addition to singing with Chanticleer, he has sung with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus, American Bach Soloists, Seraphic Fire, Clerestory, Quire Cleveland, and the Los Angeles Master Chorale. His music recording appearances include Chanticleer’s Our Favorite Carols, Best of Chanticleer, Sound in Spirit, Seraphic Fire’s Messiah Live, the Grammy Award-winning Charles Ives: the Complete Symphonies with the LA Phil, and under the baton of John Williams in the feature film, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Dr. Johns recently finished visiting professorships at Arkansas Tech University and a two-year appointment at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. He previously conducted ensembles at Interlochen Arts Camp, UC Davis, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, UC Irvine, the Eastman School of Music, and guest conducted for Sonoma Bach, Clerestory, and Men In Blaque. He was also Artistic Director of the Torrance Civic Chorale, San Francisco-based Musae, and Director of Education for the professional vocal ensemble, Chanticleer. While with Chanticleer, Johns established the organization’s first National Youth Choral Festival, a project which involved over 500 high school musicians from Virginia to Hawaii; saw the birth of Chanticleer’s elite LAB Choir program; and culminated in a series of performances at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco. Under his direction, Chanticleer’s education program won Chorus America’s Education Outreach Award.
